Just past the park office is the Visitor Centre and Nature Shoppe which are open throughout the summer as well as some weekends in spring and fall.  Staff are available to answer questions and make recommendations about the park and area. The Friends of Sandbanks runs the Nature Shoppe where you can purchase many items of interest, including park souvenirFriends of Sandbanks Nature Shoppe merchandise, nature books and children’s toys.

Throughout the park there are bulletin boards with weekly calendars of events happening in the park. The amphitheatre near the Outlet River is the location of many evening events throughout the summer put on by the park staff. Nearby is one of two picnic shelters for groups to meet under a roof. These can be reserved through the park office.

The Woodyard, located in the Outlet River Day Use area, is where you’ll be able to purchase firewood and rent kayaks, canoes and paddle boats. The Friends have a beach wheelchair there as well, which may be borrowed at no charge, when required.

At the Dunes Beach Day Use area there is nice little children’s playground as well as a snack bar, comfort station and several small family sized picnic shelters.

There are two houses that can be rented within the park.  Jacques Family Cottage is located nearMaple Rest Heritage House Sandbanks Provincial Park West Point and can accommodate up to 6 people. It has a master bedroom, a loft with two single beds and a pull out sofa. The Maple Rest Heritage House is adjacent to the Dunes Beach Day Use area entrance and has been equipped with antique furniture and facilities include a gas fireplace, laundry equipment, a dishwasher, a BBQ, a 32” HD television and satellite reception It has four bedrooms, 5 bathrooms and a huge screened in porch. Both of these facilities are available through the Ontario Parks reservation system.

The Park Store and restaurant are operated by Currah’s Cafe and Catering. They are located adjacent to the Outlet Beach.  Camping supplies and beach wear can be purchased here at the store. The restaurant serves full meals and snacks along with the ever-popular ice cream for hot days. A smaller snack bar facility is also available at the Dunes Beach Day Use area.

Picnic tables are located in all Day Use areas and benches , some funded in memoriam through the Friends of Sandbanks, have been placed throughout the park. See the section on beaches and trails for more information about each area.
