Tree Planting, November 2024
On November 24th we had a very successful tree planting at the site of our buckthorn removal on West Point in the previous month. Once again, we were fortunate to have a group of eager volunteers, including some new faces.
Many thanks to the Prince Edward County Foundation for their generous grant that we used toward purchasing a variety of shrubs and trees that will grow rapidly to prevent the buckthorn from re-establishing itself.
We hope to accomplish even more in 2025 with Year Four of this long-term project of eradication of invasive species at Sandbanks Park.
