Friends of Sandbanks Sandfest 2022, Sandbanks Park

After a three year absence, the Friends of Sandbanks sponsored their popular sand-sculpting event at the mouth of the Outlet River. For the first time, we had guest sculptor Rod Watson, who, in addition to making his own creation, wandered about the participants giving technical advice and sculpting hints to the 20 groups present.This was the first year that the coveted SandFest Trophy (The Sandy!) was offered as a prize for the best sculpture, won this year by the team of "Art Gecko". A second prize of sand or snow sculpting tools from CreateACastle was awarded the "Great Pyramid" team.
All profits from this fund-raiser will be applied to the rehabilitation of the Dunes Trail over at West Lake.
