Paddle into Summer with the Friends 2019
In this first new event for the Friends in several years, we encouraged people to rent canoes, kayaks and paddleboards at a reduced rate, and spend a leisurely afternoon paddling the Outlet River.Hotdogs, soft-drinks and marshmallows were available at the Outlet Beach Picnic Shelter, and relaxing music presented by our own talented regulars as well as the harp and voice duo of Acacia Lyra.
To end off the day, we held a silent auction of gently used paddleboards that proved to be very popular with our guests.
We plan to build on this event by combining it with Sandfest 2020 in the form of a "Meet the Friends" picnic on July 15th, 2020.
