Marsden Kemp Image Collection, Page Two
This collection was digitized in summer, 2019, and represents a collection of images taken by local resident Marsden Kemp between 1910 - 1930.While very few of the images show the Sandbanks area, the harbour and architectural views of the County show a thriving and diverse region in the early 1920s.
The dates of the images are approximately between 1900 -1930.
Marsden Kemp (1865 - 1943) was employed as a piano-tuner, first in Kingston, then Rochester and finally in Picton. He was one of six children to George John Kemp (1825 - 1890) and Mary Jane McTaggart (1827 - 1911). George was born in England, his wife Mary Jane was born in Kingston, Jamaica of Scottish parents. The couple married in Jamaica in 1848, but immigrated to Kingston, Ontario before 1860.
Here's a short genealogy of the family (compiled December 2019 by John A. Brebner).
