Family Day 2019
Every year on Family Day, the Friends of Sandbanks and the Sandbanks Provincial Park host a winter event that includes cross-country skiing, toboganning and other outdoor activities set around a roaring bonfire.Inside the Maple Rest, we provided hot chocolate, tourtière and a musical jam session.
Our special attraction for 2019 featured a program of activities related to French explorer Samuel de Champlain and his expedition of 1615 - 1616 that included parts of Prince Edward County. Songs and stories from the New France era were presented by costumed re-enactors, and information provided about the Route Champlain in Ontario.
