| Recent Activities - Buckthorn Blitz 2023 | |

This was the second year of what the Friends expect will be a multi-year partnership with Sandbanks Park to remove invasive Buckthorn at West Point,
just south of the former Lakeshore Lodge site.
The Friends have been instrumental in providing not only eager volunteers for this major environmental effort, but also many of the necessary supplies to fully eradicate this invasive species. We are fully committed to provide native replacement plants and trees that will restore this area to its former open woodland splendor. Many thanks to all our local volunteers, and especially to Friends' Board member John Lowry who coordinated our Friends' and other local volunteer groups' participation!
